Ayrton Drug Manufacturing Company Limited is a pharmaceutical company in Ghana supplying anti-hypertensives, hematinics, dermatological, antibiotics, deworming, pain killers and anti-inflammatory drugs. Established in 1965, the company manufactures and supplies pharmaceutical products for Ghana and export to sub-regions in West Africa. Well-known brands manufactured by the Ayrton Drug Manufacturing Company include: Samalin cold and flu remedies and multivitamins; Heptamin syrup and capsules; Adco-Atenolol for hypertension, Virol blood tonic and haemoglobin syrup, Clobet dermatological products, Allergex, an anti-allergy product; Amoxycillin and Cotrimoxazole, anti-bacterial products; and Metronidazole suspension, an anti-protozoal product. A South African pharmaceutical company, Adcock Ingram, acquired a 66% stake in the business in 2010.
