Champion Breweries appoints new Managing Director

Champion Breweries Plc (Champion Breweries or the Company) hereby notifies The Nigerian Stock Exchange, its shareholders and the investing public of the appointment of Mr. Georgios I. Polymenakos as the Managing Director of Champion Breweries Plc. This is following the resolution of the Board of Directors of the Company in their meeting held on Thursday December 12, 2019. The appointment was effective January 6, 2020.

Mr. Polymenakos replaces Mr. Patrick Ejidoh who retired as Managing Director of Champion Breweries after three years at the helm of affairs of the Company and after a career spanning over 32 years. The Board of Directors of Champion Breweries Plc thanks Mr. Ejidoh immensely for all his hard work and wish him the very best in his future endeavor.

Mr. Polymenakos holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from University of Wales. He was the Managing Director of Nigerian Bottling Company Limited until October 2019.

His career in Marketing and Leadership has spanned for over 21 years; starting as a Merchandiser under the Graduate Trainees program of Coca-Cola Hellenic and grew through the ranks progressively in his career. He has held the positions of Commercial Development Manager, Country Manager, Regional General Manager and Managing Director until his present appointment.

Mr. Polymenakos is married with children.
